The Maxim table, designed by Pio and Tito Toso, is a striking fusion of sculpture and functional design. Inspired by the natural relationship between form and material, its base is shaped like three elegant petals that rise and curve together to create a bold architectural centerpiece. Much like a sculpture carved by a master artisan, the table reflects the time, care, and craftsmanship required to transform raw material into a refined work of design.
The base is created through a cold molding technique in which liquid cement is carefully poured and shaped by hand. This artisanal process avoids heavy energy consumption while allowing skilled craftsmen to shape and finish the piece with precision. The surface is then finished in clay, giving the base warm, earthy tones and a natural texture that enhances its sculptural presence.
Maxim is available in two distinctive versions. The classic version features a transparent glass top that allows the unique petal-shaped base to remain fully visible, highlighting the table’s artistic character. The Maxim Argile version is completely finished in spatulated clay, creating a more organic and monolithic look.
With its sculptural form, natural materials, and refined craftsmanship, the Maxim table becomes more than just furniture—it is a true design statement that brings art and contemporary elegance into any modern living or dining space.
